Registrations for the 2025 City2Surf are officially open, and the Neil Evans Melanoma Foundation is calling on the community to help us raise $25,000 to support late-stage melanoma patients during their treatment journeys.
Over the years, the City2Surf has transformed from a humble, local road race to the world’s largest fun run, snaking its way 14 kilometers from Sydney’s CBD to the iconic golden sands of Bondi Beach.
Fundraising is woven into the fabric of the City2Surf.
In 2024 alone, almost 80,000 people crossed the finish line, between them raising over $3 million for charity.
And so, after smashing our $14,000 fundraising target in 2024, we have set ourselves a suuuuper stretch goal of raising $25k in 2025. It’s not going to be easy, we know.
But no challenge is as great as battling melanoma. Melanoma treatments are becoming better, more effective, and saving more lives every year. But they’re expensive. During Neil Evans’ three-and-a-half year battle with the disease – he was just 48 when he died – he was paying up to $20,000 a month for treatment.
Imagine knowing there was a treatment or trial available to you that could potentially extend or even save your life, but not being able to fund it.
Neil’s dream was to enable people with less financial means than himself to still have access to the latest treatment options. The Neil Evans Melanoma Foundation is his legacy.
We need your help.
If you believe every Australian, no matter their location or financial position, should have equal access to melanoma treatments and other vital support services, please join our 2025 City2Surf campaign! Whether you’re fundraising as an individual or a team, every dollar counts.
“I promised Neil that our Foundation would help as many melanoma patients as possible have a fighting chance of beating their melanoma, for good,” says Neil’s long-time partner and NEMF Founder, Sonia Nazaretian.
“And of course I remember the one time we did the City2Surf together, because I beat him!”
In partnership with our friends at Melanoma Institute Australia, which distributes our funds, we’re on a mission towards zero deaths from melanoma.
Register to race and/or start fundraising today for our City2Surf ’25K in 2025′ campaign today, and help #BEATMELANOMA, for good.
